Main Gate Security System

As it turned out in meeting with Prof. Banerjee, the most suitable topic to work on (among those proposed by us) would be "Main Gate Security System" proposed by Moti.
We've already started working on the Feasibility study about this idea. Requirements gathering and then SRS preparation will follow soon.

Our major focus while working on this project would be to work exactly as per SEN prescribes. The process in itself is very important considering the objective of the course which is to learn the software engineering process rather than to develop some fancy piece of software.

Another thing we've decided upon in the recent meetings is to work faster in the initial phase as there would be less academic burden.

All documents, reports, codes etc will be posted on a gmail ID already told to everybody.

Everybody please contribute to the forum by posting and commenting regularly.

Software Engineering Project discussion FORUM!

The purpose of this blog is to act as a discussion forum where all ten members of the SEN team can post their views as well as comments.

It's been a more than a week since we started working together. After a series of meetings and discussions we've now finally zeroed down to one topic which we'll submit tomorrow. The process to choose a feasible, yet good enough topic wasn't easy. We met several times, discussed a lot of topics and took advice from our Project Manager (Abhay Krishna G). Discussions with seniors also helped a lot.

Topic as of now is:
Web2.0 Start Pages (AJAX Dynamic Web Portal)

Scope:

Ajax Start pages allow your favorite content to be
displayed,rearranged and viewed dynamically whenever
you want from all across the Internet. These pages
act as entry points to the world wide web integrating
all the content you wish to see in a seamless manner.
All e-mail accounts, blog feeds, photo albums can be
integrated to a one dynamic page as per the user
customization. These pages are highly dynamic and
update the contents as per the Web2.0 standards.
Asynchronous Java Sript and XML are the key
technologies operating behind such pages.
